Astra is Constellation’s flagship fellowship designed to accelerate AI safety research and talent. It is a fully funded, 5-month, in-person program at Constellation’s Berkeley research center. Fellows work on frontier AI safety projects (empirical research or strategy & governance) with guidance from expert mentors and dedicated career support. The program has a high success rate in placing fellows into top AI safety organizations.

Target Audience: Talented individuals motivated to reduce catastrophic risks from AI; prior AI safety experience is not required.

Geographic Eligibility: Global (In-person in Berkeley, USA; visa support provided).

◦Compute Budget: ~$15,000 per month for empirical research fellows.
