Digital GreenTalents Award 2026

Sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), this award recognizes “High Potentials” who are leveraging digital innovations—such as AI, robotics, and digital twins—to drive sustainable development. The program aims to foster a global exchange of ideas and build long-term collaborations between international researchers and Germany’s vibrant Digital GreenTech community.

The award is not a traditional research grant but rather an individual development program. Winners are selected based on their potential to contribute to cutting-edge fields like AI-driven robotics for raw material sorting, waste-removing robots, or sustainable urban planning. The program provides a platform for young scientists to showcase their work to a high-level jury of German experts and gain visibility within the European sustainability ecosystem.

A key component of the award is the opportunity for a fully funded research stay in Germany, allowing fellows to work alongside leading German institutions and companies. This exchange is designed to spark innovative solutions for global environmental challenges while strengthening the international network of researchers dedicated to “GreenTech” and “CleanTech” applications.
