The award is not a traditional research grant but rather an individual development program. Winners are selected based on their potential to contribute to cutting-edge fields like AI-driven robotics for raw material sorting, waste-removing robots, or sustainable urban planning. The program provides a platform for young scientists to showcase their work to a high-level jury of German experts and gain visibility within the European sustainability ecosystem. A key component of the award is the opportunity for a fully funded research stay in Germany, allowing fellows to work alongside leading German institutions and companies.
