About this opportunity
Embassy Science Fellows (ESF) is a unique program by NWO and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, offering nine new fellowship positions in 2024. This initiative allows researchers to contribute their expertise to scientific and societal issues from a Dutch embassy or consulate abroad for 1 to 3 months.
It's designed to enrich scientists with diplomatic experience, enhance Dutch foreign policy through scientific contributions, and expand international networks. Fellows will engage in activities that bolster scientific and diplomatic relations, including meeting foreign researchers, giving advice, and writing technical reports.
Eligibility:
- PhD graduates and senior researchers from Dutch knowledge institutions.
- Must have an employment contract extending beyond the fellowship period.
- Applicants should be employed by specified Dutch universities, research institutes, or other listed organisations.
What to Apply For:
- Up to €25,000 covering travel, accommodation, research expenses, and a small replacement grant.
- Fellowship duration of 1 to 3 months between 1 September 2024 and 1 September 2025.
