Quantum Hack 2026 is a high-energy, 48-hour hackathon held in Espoo, Finland, one of Europe’s leading quantum computing hotspots. The event brings together builders, researchers, and curious minds to experiment with quantum algorithms using real quantum computers and high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure. It is a unique opportunity to turn quantum theory into working prototypes alongside experts from companies like IQM and VTT.

The hackathon is designed for a diverse range of participants, from quantum researchers and physicists ready to prototype to software engineers and mathematicians curious about quantum algorithms. Students exploring deep tech are also highly encouraged to attend. The goal is to push quantum technology into the next era by leveraging Finland’s thriving ecosystem of startups, universities, and national quantum infrastructure.

Participants will work in teams of up to four, with registration happening at the beginning of the event. The organizers provide all necessary resources, including snacks, drinks, food, and access to the quantum hardware. For those traveling from outside Finland, a €300 travel grant is available to help cover costs, provided the application is submitted by the early deadline of May 10.

Target Audience: Quantum researchers, physicists, software engineers, mathematicians, and students interested in deep tech.

Geographic Eligibility: Espoo, Finland (Physical event).

Tangible Benefits: €300 travel grant for applicants outside Finland (if applied by May 10). Free snacks, drinks, food, and access to quantum computers and HPC resources.
