Chalmers University of Technology invites applications for a 10-week paid summer internship within the Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology (WACQT), focusing on the software and calibration of a 25-qubit quantum processor. Interns will work in the Quantum Computer at Chalmers (QC2) group, gaining exposure to state-of-the-art quantum technology and contributing to one of two cutting-edge projects.

Target Audience: Students with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Nanotechnology, or equivalent. Strong Python programming skills are essential. Background in quantum physics or machine learning is desirable.

Geographic Eligibility: Open to all nationalities. The internship is in-person in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Tangible Benefits: Paid 10-week internship at one of Europe’s leading quantum computing labs, hands-on experience with a real 25-qubit quantum processor using the Tergite software stack, and direct collaboration with the QC2 software team.

Two Project Options:

• Project 1 — Readout Optimization and Software Development: Focus on the automatic calibration package for reliable gate operations, comparing readout optimization algorithms.
• Project 2 — Machine Learning for Quantum Transpilation: Develop a prototype ML (neural network) model to automate the transpilation process, translating theoretical circuits into hardware-compatible versions.

Application Requirements: Submit a PDF containing CV, Personal Letter, Transcript of records, and at least one reference contact.
